Who is Baba Vanga?
Baba Vanga (Vangelia Pandeva Dimitrova), as she is commonly known, was a Bulgarian mystic and clairvoyant who gained wide fame for her alleged ability to predict the future. Vangelia Pandeva was born on January 31, 1911 in Dimitrova, in the village of Strumica, which was part of the Ottoman Empire at that time and is located in present-day Macedonia, she became known as “Baba Vanga” or “Grandma Vanga” due to her respected status in Bulgarian and Slavic culture. Baba Vanga died on August 11, 1996 at the age of 85.
How did Baba Vanga lose her sight?
Baba Vanga, originally named Vangelia Pandeva Dimitrova, lost her sight at the age of 12 by walking away in a mysterious storm and despite efforts, she could not regain her eyesight. After this incident, Vanga, who began to use her psychic abilities, claimed to have visions that allowed her to see the past, present and future with amazing accuracy.
